John Hammond Says He Has 'No Idea' When Markelle Fultz Will Return

Jun 26, 2019 1:57 AM

John Hammond said that the Orlando Magic have to continue to be patient as Markelle Fultz recovers from injury.

Hammond, speaking in a radio interview with 96.9 The Game, said that Fultz will not play in summer league.

"He will not play in summer league with us. We didn’t think there was any way that he was going to do that. We didn’t plan on him doing that. So, probably not the place for him right now. But overall, I can just say that he’s doing well," said Hammond.

Hammond added that he still is in the dark about when Fultz will return to the court.

'We have no idea when that’s going to be. We’re hoping much, much sooner than later. But once again, we’re trying to do this the best we can, and that’s have that word of patience."

John Wall Expected To Begin Jogging In Coming Weeks

Jun 25, 2019 12:27 PM

John Wall is expected to start jogging in the coming weeks as he ramps up his recovery.

“I’m about to start jogging in like two weeks,” he said. “I’m just riding the bike, I get to do exercises standing up now. I don’t have to sit down, I’m able to move, do ladder steps, those types of things. Just taking my time, progressing, healing the right way so I don’t force myself and get another injury.”

Wall underwent season-ending surgery on his left heel in January of this year and then suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon after slipping and falling in his home.

Wall is not expected to return until after the 2020 All-Star break.

“Everybody said I can’t be myself, I won’t be nowhere near as good again,” Wall said on Monday night. “That’s all the other stuff that’s going to fuel me. I don’t get upset about it, you’re entitled to your own opinion. Please keep it going.”

Kevin Pritchard 'Hopeful' For Victor Oladipo Return In December Or January

Jun 23, 2019 4:05 PM

Kevin Pritchard said he hoped that Victor Oladipo would return to the Indiana Pacers lineup sometime in December or January.

Oladipo ruptured his right quad tendon last January.

“He might be out a little bit. I’m hopeful he’ll be back December or January. I don't think it's right to say, 'Well, we know he's going to be back. He'll be back at this time.' Because the truth is the body heals at a different rate for every person," said Pritchard.

Oladipo told the IndyStar last month that he understands the limits of his body during the rehab process.

"I know my body more better than ever than now going through this rehab process. It’s like relearning my body. I’ll know what to do what not to do, not to overdo it.”

Klay Thompson left Oracle Arena on crutches after injuring his left knee on a dunk attempt in the third quarter of Game 6.

Thompson was fouled by Danny Green and landed awkwardly.

Thompson exited into the tunnel to the Golden State Warriors' locker room, but returned to shoot the free throws as he would have otherwise been ineligible to return to the game.

Thompson made both free throws to give him 30 points for the game, but then exited and was eventually ruled out for the remainder of the game.
